A wedding! Garrison and Melissa Sanford's wedding! I thought you all might want to see some pictures of the cake and cupcakes. :) Oh, and my mess. :D
That was only half of my frosting mess.... you should have seen the counter at the end of the day!
And that was only about half of the frosting....
You remember those lemon and blueberry cupcakes from the last post? Well, this is the same recipe! I did half blueberry, and half lemon cupcakes.
The very adorable cake topper. :)
There were also GF and AF cupcakes, but I didn't get a picture of the whole cake table. Bad me.
I got a ton of compliments about the cupcakes- personally, I think the lemon is the bestest. :)
They look fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like to see your mess. It makes me feel better, since I am the messiest cook ever.
Miss you!
*laughs* yes.... I'm rather known for making a mess in the kitchen. Usually very sweet sticky messes. :)
DeleteMiss you too!!!!! *hugs*
These look so yummy! Olivia said the GF cupcakes at the wedding were really good. Any chance you could post the recipe for the GF and AF cupcakes?
ReplyDeleteYour friends are blessed to have your skills available to them.

Mrs. Howard,
DeleteActually, for the majority of my recipes (except bread- we use a mix for that), I just replace whatever ingredients the person in mind is allergic to to ingredients that would be fine (For example, the gf cupcakes is the exact same recipe as the one I posted in my earlier blog post, only I added the xanthum gum and used Kind Arthur GF flour, as well as egg replacer instead of eggs). For the af ones, I used a new recipe that I wasn't happy with- it didn't have a fine crumb, more like a smoosh. :D So I'll just use my regular recipe instead this weekend for a cake I'm making for church, and I'm going to use hemp milk instead of the regular milk, as well as palm shortening instead of butter. Oh, and I also really like King Arthur's cookie mix- it makes really good chocolate chip cookies, as well as amazing sugar cookies. :)
Where do you all usually get your recipes? I've seen some of the pictures that Olivia has posted before- and they look really yummy!!! Oh, and I came across this website- have you ever used it before? http://www.livingwithout.com/
I'm GF,too, so I'd love to make these ( they look amazing!) How much xanthan gum did you use? And you just use the same amount of King Arthur mix as you do the cake flour?
DeleteThanks for posting!
Samantha
Yes, I use the same amount of gf flour in recipes when I substitute it. For the xanthan gum, I usually use 1 1/2 teaspoons per batch.
DeleteYou'll have to let me know how they go! I'd love to hear about it! :)
Wow, Grace! These are gorgeous!!!! Fantabulous job :) :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had a really fun time doing it. :)
DeleteBeautiful! Grace, you work wonders with frosting. And of course the lemon is the best... lemon always is!
ReplyDeleteThey sure look fabulous. Mmmmm!
ReplyDeleteWow, you are very talented with icing cakes! No wonder they asked you to do their cakes...!
ReplyDeleteEmily J.
Thanks!! I find it much easier to make things look nice if people just leave it up to me how it turns out, without really saying what they want it to look like..... then I can do whatever I want with it. :)
