Jen's IL Shower!

So, here I am again... after a very busy, glorious, sunny summer.  The air is already starting to have a slight chill, and pumpkin flavored everything is coming.... As well as the marriage of my oldest brother in a few weeks!  I (and my besties from church) had the privilege of planning my future sister-in-law's shower a couple of weeks ago, and of course I'm just now uploading them.... I'm such a slowpoke when if comes to stuff on the internet these days... but I suppose that's a good thing, right?  Anyhow, back to the shower.... We had a lovely time planning and getting ready for the shower, and I hope it was a blessing to all the ladies that came!

Once again.... lots of food pictures.  :)  I wonder why..... maybe I'm just slightly obsessed with food?

Mmmm... Salted Caramel Meringues.  Which I found out should NEVER be made in the summer in Illinois.  It's simply much too humid... after making one batch and having in the oven for 10 hours, they were still sticky (but then, I did end up putting them out all night because I didn't think it would affect them).... so I made another batch to find out if it was just the batch that I made went hangwire or what- and I found out that, lo and behold, there's simply just too much humidity to do them while it's hot outside.  But still.  They were quite yummy, just slightly gummy.  ;)

Allergen-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

And an adorable cheese tray with cute little flags for signs!!!  aww.. :)

And the Chocolate Trifles!!!  There were a ton of fun to make..... maybe I'll get around to posting the recipe soon.  All it was was homemade chocolate sauce, cake, chocolate pastry cream, chocolate whipped cream, more cake, more chocolate whipped cream, and chocolate curls on top.  And they were SO. GOOD.

 Mmmmm.... Chocolate Cookies..... :D

Getting food.... :)  Ashton and Jennifer!

My cold coffee bar!  It was a ton of fun to do. And very yummy.  :)

Jesi was in charge of the punch..... And no, I'm not saying how many glasses of punch we drank between the two of us.  ;P

Your's truly..... Doing the cold coffee.  :)

Melinda with her gorgeous hair, pretending to eat my trifle so I could get a picture of her with it.... (no, she didn't actually eat any of mine.  :D)

Back again at my post- with my punch, trifle, and cold coffee, of course.  ;)

Mrs. Evans, giving a wonderful devotion.

Jen and Ashton, giving their proposal story...

And then gifts!!

There was a lot of laughter and fun....

Lots of laughing.  :D

It was a lovely evening, and it was quite wonderful.....

And that's all for tonight!!  :)
